CONJUNCTIONS

3screen moving image installation · 16mm & digital · 6h · Fondation d’entreprise Hermès · Tokyo 2026

Conjunctions is a three-screen moving-image installation by artist Leonor Serrano Rivas, presented as part of the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès’ Skills Academy – Metal programme in Tokyo.

Exploring electroforming through shifts in scale, texture and duration. 16mm, microscopic imagery and long-form observation come together across three distinct cinematic pieces, following the slow transformation of organic matter into metal.

One screen presents a six-hour film, while the two remaining screens combine 16mm and digital footage: One explores the microscopic structures of organic matter through 16mm, and the other follows the transformation of a plant through a single continuous shot, allowing time itself to become part of the process.

The installation formed part of Bonding, the group exhibition presented at SKAC (SKWAT KAMEARI ART CENTRE) in Tokyo as part of the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès’ Skills Academy – Metal programme.
